Amsterdam Gay Pride

Gay pride is the biggest local event in Amsterdam. The highlight is the parade, which is on boats through the main canal. It has almost half a million spectators watching from the side. The rest of the weekend is filled with various culture events, massive street parties and many indoor gay parties.

Kingsday Amsterdam

There is an outside free market in the whole centre, with many music and dance stages. In the gay streets always lots of activities and large gay dance parties like Rapido take place on the days surrounding Kingsday.

Thank you Indra for your post. I totally agree with you. Many men talk badly about the 'older' guys as if they have no right to be there. When they are discriminated against in a few years time (yes, time passes quickly) I hope they will think back to how they treated the 45 + generation.

First impression was great. Interior was charming, the staff was helpful.. but having seen most comments here I think the problem is the Amsterdam gay men, surprisingly. They need to tone down that 'you-need-to-prove-you're-good-enough-for me' attitude! Seriously guys, most of us there are looking for sex and yes: you all have your favourites. But no need to be cocky or rude to one another. You don't like what you see, does not mean you can't be polite. Don't tut, pull a nasty face or whinge if somebody you don't fancy made a move. Just politely say no. Is it that hard to do??

Sorry for being grumpy but I don't think the recent renovation is an inprovement. It's gets irritating crowded more easy with hardly no place to stand in the groundfloor if you don't have a stool or bench. So the only option is to go straight down to the cellar.
